Thanks, cool article, I put 50 claps, but should point out some technical flaws, understandable if your background might not be specifically in some of the technical subject areas, this is basically a good analysis.

On hydrogen, there are some details about it not mentioned, that I guess you might not know about, which actually make it much more attractive to the end solutions you've mentioned, it seems to me.

Domestic and community solar is the thing growing very rapidly, in competition to, and at the expense of losses experienced by grid companies. Some grid companies are even looking for compensation for this.

You mentioned using batteries to back it up at source. Batteries are not needed, if the domestic or community installation iself has the capability to generate and store hydrogen, and to use this via fuel cells to provide the electricity to the community or domestic microgrid.

In this case, the capacity of hydrogen generation has to exceed the average usage of the community grid itself, (In order to be guaranteed to maintain energy 24/7 all year round, in all conditions).

So all communities using hydrogen backup will have hydrogen to spare, which actually needs to be allowed to discharge now and then, to avoid overloading the hydrogen storage tanks.

That means all communiities will have hydrogen to dispense to passing traffic, who might need it, if they too were converted to use hydrogen. Both EV and ICE vehicles can run on hydrogen, the former by fuel cells, again replacing batteries, whilst being near instantly refuellable, as opposed to relatively long EV charge times.

The hardware needed to do these things with hydrogen is commercially available, and being improved all the time, a typical domestic application hydrogen generator example is "Enapter", about the size of a large hifi component.

By this we might see how all domestic and community installations can have a side-business, of deliberately overproducing hydrogen, so as to maximise the revenue that might be had from sales of it.

So instead of energy bills, the community experiences the opposite, additional revenue.

A further feature of hydrogen not talkied about much by profit driven industry, is that it is the input energy component of a new kind of food ("Solein"), produced from hydrogen by bio-reactors.

Again no reason why all communities could not have one of these, creating food not only for their own use, but for others, again with the possibility of revenue.

A further benefit of an entire new ecology based on community generated solar hydrogen like this, is filtration and circulation of drinking quality water.

Vehicles converted to use hydrogen in fuel cells will be constantly producing highly purified water, as an exhaust process of hydrogen consumption. This water could be stored and offloaded at time of refuelling.

So communities dispensing hydrogen to transportation might receive drinking quality water in return for fuel dispensed, with appropriate adjustments to whatever revenue might change hands.

This is whilst the community only needs to provide relatively low quality of water at the input to their hydrogen generation - the process of electoysis automatically removes impurities from the water converted to hydrogen. Pure hydrogen itself by definition contains no impurities.

The final cherry on the cake of this use of hydrogen as backup for solar energy, is that it stands as definite, solid, provable solar economic product, which has to be monetised.

Notice money issued as debt only monetises energy by extraction, not energy truly received for free. The sun never asks anything in return for the Joules it emits, so it is truly donated.

So as product created from this continues to grow, and the value of it in the economy continues to accumulate whilst not monetised, issue of money is now actually trailing creation of product, therefore explaining the real, physical reason for modern

inflation. Historically inflation was caused by the opposite, creation of product trailing issue of money. Now it is the opposite, issue of money is trailing creation of product, all because of the creation of economic product from domestic and community solar.

The only way this can be gotten around, is for money to be issued for free as a kind of solar backed UBI.

It is only a matter of time now until this is realised and acted on, in the only way possible, by issue of free money to all people.

If you see how all this works, you might agree with me that hydrogen actually has god signs all over it, solving or addressing all of the problems of toxic battery usage, impending drinking water shortages, impending food shortages, generation of pollution, as well as the obvious problem of how to distribute energy around, but most surprisingly, that it could be the final physical lever needed to convince folk beyond dispute, of the financial value of free energy.

I agree the energy companies think they will try to use it to their advantage, but so will the people, it seems to me, and nature is on the side of the latter, they will win, imho, nature always has to win in the end :)

Sorry rambling reply but I hope it helps.
