Substituting "The meek will inherit the Earth", for every mention of you make Christianity, might help put it into context. For me personally this was the main message of Christianity, This was the one point to always keep in mind, and am sure most other genuine Christians would agree.
Doing that would be fair. Otherwise you are just trying to corrupt it as surely as any trying to use Christianity for their own non religious political agendas.
