Studying the physics, it looks inevitable. The inflation for the first time in history has a real physical reason, and they can't get around it, they either lose their capital by issuing free money, or they lose it by inflation. They can't choose whether or not to have an energy standard on money, it is already there, as far as I can see.

Mathematically, there was always C in the economy.

C was the total sum of all capital including Joules of energy.

Now there is C + Xt, where Xt is a flow of Joules per second solar coming into the economies of every developed country, more than ten GigaJoules per second already, and still only at 10% of capacity.

C has to tend to zero relative to Xt, can't get around it.

The zero sum box is no longer closed, it is 10% open, and can't be closed again, only opened further,

Nature has us (capitalists) at check, with one move to mate, as far as I can tell.

I think of it as moving from capitalism, to energyism :)
