Still talking about renewables Will. As long as you stay in that loop, not distinguishing between energy added to Earth (Mathematically positive), and energy subtracted from Earth (Mathematically negative), just mixing them all together as if it doesn't matter, it is probably impossible to see why the word you used to describe battery technology as a ("Linchpin") is ironically so appropriate. The correct spelling is Lynchpin, the word comes from a pin used to Lynch, it should probably never be used to describe anything particularly good, but in this case it is appropriate, because batteries are indeed something likely to tie us into what is becoming deadly energy subtracted from the planet, which in turn is hardwired to temperature rise, and profit, which ends very soon, us with it, if we are not careful.
The batteries you identified sound relatively good, they will have their place probably, but they are not anywhere close to the only solution to the global energy problem, which is solar hydrogen.
This is the only thing that will keep planes in the air without having to use fossil fuels.
I guess you like having long distance commercial and cargo planes :)
Btw beware distraction artists sounding like they know what they are talking about in other responses here. I am a long practicing systems Engineer, since long before working on this energy problem on coming across it six years ago on PhD research, and am pretty good at sniffing out bullshit. I smell it pretty bad near here. It might be well meaning but its still bullshit that dilutes genuine, actually vital new information, like the really simple requirement for science to begin formally mathematically signing energy.
