Sounds very cool, for now, thanks for posting. But to me there looks to be some red flags, like are apparent with pretty much any profit driven Ai, including even the algos on the current platform.
I've explained elsewhere the problematic part that profit plays in the "Grand Energy Ponzi". Ultimately, it impacts negatively on environment.
Taken with the motivation statement above, "Before it becomes available for commercial deployment"
So was the motivation really to try to do best by humanity, or was it just to make some profit? Can't have both, unfortunately.
You mentioned a commercial company involvement already, so I guess the project is under some obligation to make sure there is a return for them.
If the commercial company further exists to do business with governments, who are already now very aggressively enforcing censorship of a very large amount of information on the internet, which they don't want to be public knowledge, then this tool could conceivably be used for that purpose, without even much knowledge of users, it seems to me.
I would be far more impressed if Cardiff Uni made it open source, rather than looking how to make maximum profit on it, but it is probably too late for that already. Hey-ho.
