Sounds like the kind of trick an "honest sorcerer" might play in the street to gather crowds, the honest sorceror might have some pickpockets go round the crowd who gathered to see which envelope had the most money in it, and when the sorceror reveals there was no money in either envelope, which is not a dishonesty because "no money" is a valid statement of an "amount of money" that satisfies all mathematical comparisons or relationships we might state truthfully exists between the two envelopes (2x0=0). The crowd comes to see the trick expecting to come away richer with at least a little maybe useful knowledge, but goes away poorer by the amount pickpocketed.
Did you know this is how supply of electricity at profit works? An amount of energy in KWhrs is provided to the consumer as electricity, and the consumer has to supply in return even more KWhrs as money, because money is abstracted energy.
Hence why the dishonest sorceror can truthfully call themselves an honest sorceror, because actually there is no difference between honestly trading for profit, and dishonestly trading for profit, profit itself is the base dishonesty, but our eyes are always distracted away from that, by the possibility we might gain by it ourselves.in fact, in adult life we have to gain by it, in order to get even the minimum energy we need to metabolise to stay alive. This is what commodified education is for, to teach us how to do this most effectively, in a way that ensures the other humans we ultimately rob enetgy from, are never on our doorstep, always remote, in other countries, where we see them dying because they had their last energy robbed from them, by what is in essence a system of energy slavery in process of destroying the planet, relentlessly pushing up the planetary temperature, but we can convince ourselves it's nothing to do with us personally, it's always someone else doing the genociding that happens when a population is seen to be unable to usefully contribute to the systemic beast, say by the population becoming solar powered, that really coordinates and controls us like swarming ants, us being system blinded by the commodified education system to never see it, or refuse to see it when it is explained to us... sorry I chose your actually cool story to unload this on. It's actually an argument that applies to any and all stories because it's what drives our lives though most of the time we don't understand it or even see it at all. My use of it here is for the attention of a would-be honest sorcerer, who you probably don't know or never heard of before, but these are the kinds of energy wasting stupid games we have to play to tackle would-be honest sorcereors, they waste so much of our time, creating yet more Enshittopia that we have to be always busy undoing.
