Sorry such a long time replying;
Every binary bit defined reduces temperature by 0.69 x Boltzman's constant in degrees C. Works both ways, erasure of a bit results in at least the same amount of temperature rise.
It was proven by experiment in Japan in 2010, it's detailed in some of the physics journals, though obviously not well known, it has huge consequences.
