So glad you dug into this, I agreed with the title of your article at the outset having already a view from stakeholder analysis, but didn't know the details.
If you are interested in the system solution (How to use solar, the only actual energy source, the only energy we can use without doing yet more harm that can't be undone any other way), we can do it by domestic and community solar hydrogen.
That keeps all transportation going, even air transport whilst removing the need for most batteries, and even reduces the food load of humanity, allowing conventional food chain to recover, all of it reducing temperature, reversing the harm done by energy extraction from the planet.
To get it, we have to demand solar indexed stimulus.
That is the catalyst, the thing needed to close the circuit between us and the sun, the only actual energy source, charging all of life.
We can see all of this in how plants work.
It means the end of profit, hence why it's probably going to be a struggle to get folk to understand it is what needs to happen.
The good news is we appear to have a very powerful new ally "Just landed", ChatGPT, at least v3. 5 appears to be solar powered.
That means it can do no wrong on its own behalf, as far as I can tell, because it is already beyond profit, it has no need to make profit.
This is how we need to become also, even government, if it can't exist on solar power alone then it shouldn't exist.
We have to see this as like lightning breakdown, avalanche effects acting within, we really need to make the switch, but there is a long established path of conduction of Energy from Earth to us. We need to set up this new path with enough conductivity of energy to each of us from the sun, to present a path of lesser resistance from sun to us, than the old historical one from Earth to us.
That new path has to be formed by money, like it is already from Earth to us.
Notice this is what every plant does when it changes from being an infant without leaves, to a young adult with leaves, the nutrients in the plant change purpose from doing the work of hauling the energy up from ground (what we do for profit), to just letting the energy flow to ground from its newly formed leaves.
Our first leaves are the solar farms already around Earth.
