Seems a little like wishful thinking Ray, unfortunately. The problem with embarking on a mission to try to question a person's sanity or intelligence, is it can blow up in our face, if it turns out the person (Or even the system) is sane but highly intelligent, in a way that they can make fun of whoever is claiming them to be unintelligent, by letting them fall into a kind of trap, knowing at any moment they can say something that reveals it was just a game they were playing all along.
I would say never underestimate the wilyness of Trump.
