Response failed #2
This is is happening more often now, responses being denied by the system, even via multiple browsers. Why?
To Shin Jie Yong, on your story below:
My response, which I could not get the system to post in entirety, is as follows:
I’ve always appreciated your posts in Medium, this one too, I see this as your balanced and very informed, expert view presented with the intention of reducing panic reactions to things, which was much needed to offset the craziness we saw during covid. So I disagree with the comment of at least one responder here, our John, who appears to be trying to tar you with the wrong brush, as he does me too sometimes, pay him no attention, your stuff is good, imho.
Though I never was vaccinated, I am skeptical of the findings of the report, due to my own personal experience of having a touch of RVO in one eye, clumsily diagnosed as AMD, which came about during lockdowns, though I am fitter than average and well below the age that this normally affects, it isn’t a typical case because it has not deteriorated much since the diagnosis in 2020, though I do see flare-ups now and then, it seems to subside with not much loss of vision, if any at all.

So personally I think there might be a heavily increased frequency of occurrence of this across the population in general, definitely amongst those who obeyed the rules of lockdown to the letter, inhibiting our usual active lives, outdoors.
Lockdown for me resulted in a big impact to CV fitness, which I’ve always tried to maintain at a high level, most of my life. I think this probably has more to do with my RVO than anything else. It obviously is not due to vaccination!
It does also coincide with a similar condition diagnosed in my father, who at 81 still has reasonable vision for his age, no-one bothered to “Study deterioration” of his conditon, and it obviously has not deteriorated much, since he was diagnosed around 40 years ago. He never was fit, by his own admission, he always hated exercise, but suffers for that now in a few ways.
To me, there is reason to investigate more what is known and unknown about RVO and the causes of this. This would help pin down a biological mechanism you mentioned, if even any exists with vaccines. As stated in my own article about my AMD / RVO, I don’t think enough is known about it, to me it has a lot to do with how much light our eyes are exposed to, there is maybe a healthy normal UV exposure profile, that keeps our eyes “Well exercised”, which maybe helps.
Btw, I tested regularly, including when travelling abroad to places still allowing us to travel without vaccination, including Africa, and also when my vaccinated daughter was living with me, herself testing positive. I never tested positive on any of my tests, so I can’t say I’ve ever had covid. Hence I don’t think my RVO is covid or vaccine related, but actually lockdown related.
The usual treatment by profit driven “Health services”, is to assume it will deteriorate, and “Monitor” the deterioration by occasionally irradiating the eye with crazy high light intensity regular eye examinations, then when blindness is finally debilitating, treat with expensive eye operations which might or might not be successful.
Personally I have every intention of avoiding that, like my Dad has done.
Hey-ho, thanks again for your info, much appreciated, keep up the good work!
