Perfectly balanced, perfectly written. Reflects my sentiments and experience almost exactly, although I don’t live in Italy unfortunately.

I too have the same “Gut feeling”.

We can see the harm done by platforms interfering with the posts and connections made by users.

We can also see the harm done by profit driven business in general.

Profit isn’t about saving lives, it is about profit.

A few profit at the expense of many, and our environment in every case, which is obviously unsustainable.

Now we’ve run out of good ideas how to keep making profit, we’ve moved onto things like vaccines.

Vaccines are great, as long as they were developed not for profit, but to save lives.

I remember leading in the charge to champion vaccine development, back when we still understood the virus could be eliminated.

But the minute vaccines went profit driven, suddenly, everything changed.

“Science” went from a quest of eliminating the virus, to profiting from it.

Immediately, we had scientists advising the virus would always be with us.

Now we risk being cancelled when we remind of things like that.

Trusting anything profit driven to save lives seems crazy to me.
