Pepe, everything you are saying is true, but it would be slightly less confrontational, imho, by pointing out that there is a system at work which blinds us, not only westerners but all people, to the things you are pointing out, I think it is important to identify the hidden actor, hiding right under our noses, at the heart of the deception - profit, this is what all the network algos are built on, the thing that forces us out to work for the exploitative system. The way it works systemically is to blind those doing the most by it. I know this because since I started working non profit, on monies earned previously, my own perception of the problem has clarified, as the funds have run down. When I first made those funds, it might have been defined as profit, and I could have kept going, for another year in addition to the one already worked, but working for the broken system was becoming something of a mind destroyer for me (It was driving me mad). Now having made the funds I made then do for a few years afterwards, it has been actually only subsistence, but the view I have now is very different than it was when I was sitting on the money when first earned.
I gave up my car, a 4x4 "Sports" caravan tugger, even before that last contract, gave it away, didn't even sell it, and a few other things causing unsustainable overheads and pollution back then also, now I ride e-bikes that I built myself at own expense since then, so like you, I am practicing what I preach.
I've been tempted to start selling e-bikes, because the custom ones I've built, as a well practiced engineer, are much admired, but if I do even that, I am contributing to the profit driven system of extracted energy and exploitation.
Soon I will not have the luxury of choice any longer, I will be forced back onto the rat-wheel, if the required changes I've identified still don't come to pass (The issue of solar stimulus), but I will know I've done all I can.
As I said elsewhere, I believe Ai might be key, it's appearance has given me renewed hope we might see the miracle needed, right there.
