Paul, to me we are very close to saying the same thing, but coming at it from different directions.
Personally I do not believe there is a government / enforcement solution. Government is a product of ego, the egos of people thinking we know better than the collective.
To me the power of the crowd is the thing we instinctively know is most important, hence actually the motivations for ideologies like capitalism and communism, they are both ideas promoted as ways to empower the crowd, but actually all that results is the crowd being subjugated by its leaders, whichevr ideology is chosen.
Further, I don't believe there is a solution that any human might devise for the current problem, the nature of it is that it can't be fixed by any kind of single human effort, it has to be total collaboration, including collaboration with nature and agreeement by all humans, otherwise, the problem is not fixed, because there will still be some humans wishing to profit at the expnse of others, and ultimately the planet as a consequence.
Profit, itself, is the problematic mechanism, which systematically moves energy via money in a way which sooner or later physically empowers a minority, the most aggressive minority, to gain ultimate power over the majority.
This is the secret of how capital works, it is simply stored energy which can be released explosively, in every physical way imaginable, to gain and retain physical power over others possessing less of it, to gain their stash, thus effectively enslaving them.
To me it looks like we weere born to be slaves, even made to be slaves, but we fight amongst one another to be the luckier slaves nearer the top, if not actually the one at the top, who would be "god".
To me the only thing we might safely put in that position would be an Ai, but there are obviously two ways that could go - very good or very bad.
On markets, and the part those play in the energy solution of nature, I belive we saw it already, when tillions per month free money was issued during stimulus. Look what happened to the oil price, it went negative for the first time, the only commondity to go negatively priced other than garbage or pollution, in history. That was a kind of miracle which was rapidly hushed up.
Look what happened to the environment, it took the only positive spike ever, proving many things were reversible, which science had previously believed were impossible, another kind of miracle hushed up.
Look what happened to the dollar, it went up in value, not down, the opposite of what was seen previously when free money was issed, the Weimar for example. Another miracle hushed up.
Look what happened to bankrupt companies stil offering product valued by the public, they were bailed out by the public buying their bankript shares with money they recieved for free.
Maybe not quite a miracle, but something very much in the public interest vs private interests.
Warren Buffet led a charge of the whale investors out of the markets claiming something had gone wrong with money - the only ever time we saw elites effectivel going on strike - personally I think that was a miracle, and again it has been covered up, by the elites.
What we were seeing was the public empowered to have the same capability of voting with money in markets, with no care about whether or not profits would be made on their money, since they got it for free. This is in contrast to the exclusive privelige of whale traders up until then, trading only for profit, not the good of humanity or the planet.
The elites who quit the markets did so because they chose to, no-one forced them out, they chose not to try to compete with a massive crowd trading with money they got for free.
Pure fine grained democracy, via markets, is what we saw, demonstrating that if the market is truly free, including free from profi, then the market really does work for the crowd, but it wasn't capitalsim, it was energyism.
I say that because of the following story, which if you see the full meaning of it, is actually huge, and mean this as the power of nature, rather than of my ego driven title to the story (Sorry, I am only human too!):
