“Science” accepts the statistical certainty that other intelligence exists in our universe, yet ignores the similar certainty that we are not top of the chain.

The scientific response to seeing that should be to ask why.

I am not against science, quite the opposite, without it we would be done, and I certainly would not have had a career, but it seems to have become something very unscientific as a result of being profit driven.

I only realised this after having more than fifty years unaware of it as a profit driven technologist, but now the spell is broken, it seems very obvious where the difficulty lies with humanity, and it is actually kind of existential.

It would be cool if aspiring scientists could see it too, I think.
