One basic issue with wind turbines, wood, steel or otherwise, is that we can't logically justify issuing money on the energy generated from wind, because nothing is being created, by taking the Joules from wind, siphoning them off for ourselves, No net increase of Joules put to use on Earth is occurring there, therefore no economic product is being created.
This is something you / we are all missing with solar, it is not being used the way nature uses it, if we don't effectively convert the Joules coming from that source, external to Earth, by issuing money on the Joules received, the way a plant issues nutrients in response to the same on its leaves, conducting that then to Earth.
