“Nuclear Now” is Never any kind of Future.
A Message to Oliver Stone, and all fans, supporters, sponsors, and prospective fans or supporters of this movie.
It is with sinking heart I see that Oliver Stone, a film-maker I have had much admiration for in the past, appears to have succumbed to the “dark side”, presenting the subject of this movie, nuclear power, as something the opposite.
Oliver, giving you the most credit possible for your obvious intelligence, I put it to you that you have fallen into the same trap that blinds most of us to the actual problem.
It is this blindness we can’t afford any longer.
Tens of millions in the US are already suffering from smoke inhalation at this minute, resulting from the Earth beginning to burn.
The hyperobject, of Earth burning, more, as a result of us effectively burning Earth, is already starting to burn us, literally.
We might as well be throwing petrol on the fires now burning in Canada, rather than water. The fires will for sure continue to spread to other areas, at an exponential rate of increase.
If we are brutally honest with ourselves, anyone with any intelligence, what we are seeing is like a slow motion explosion, it is just starting to ignite now, and all the effort we do to just try to mitigate the symptoms of it like carbon capture, carbon taxing, etc, always for profit of course, are just more effort added to the source of the ignition — the exponentially rising temperature of Earth.
The more it burns, the more it wants to burn, we are constantly throwing more accelerant onto it, as long as we continue to practice extraction of energy from the materials and energy fields of Earth, and nuclear is just another form of extraction — it adds to the ignition heating.
E=MC squared, and the raw state of energy is heat. Energy converted to anything other than heat is creation by definition, which is also cooling by definition.
The opposite, our continuous conversion of all things nature created in the first place from energy which was originally heat, back to heat, is destruction by definition, and obviously heating by definition.
Nuclear, and fossil fuels use and consumption are no different in this, they are both forms of extraction from Earth.
Do you really think that we even have the development time of nuclear (Around seven years to build an installation by historically accepted “Safe” standards), given the Earth is already starting to burn, and economic inflation, which is directly related, is spiralling out of control?
If your film was truly for the good, why is money being charged to see it, and why is it not being released at the earliest opportunity, rather than being heavily promoted, to see it?
I am guessing you will have experienced some of the effects of “Cancellation”, financially, since many of your movies and subjects have been anti-establishment, where in the end, ultimate systemic authority is still financial, if we are honest, this even controls the governments of the world, this is how we are cancelled, by being implicitly sanctioned by the system.
We all are still required to “Make profit”, to survive, including you, as I think is evidenced by this movie.
You will be feeling an acute personal need to make some money I guess, to maybe try to recover from the effects of cancellation, hence what probably drives you to make and promote this movie.
I can only speculate on your motives, using my Systems Engineering skills of stakeholder analysis, which usually turn out to be correct.
But what is not speculation, is my knowledge as a long practicing “Top tier” systems Engineer, researching the physical energy problem for six years now, that nuclear is no solution at all to the problems we are seeing on Earth now, actually it is likely to be an existential mistake to make now, if we really want to see any kind of future at all, for us, never mind our kids, if we have any.
Extraction is the problem, and extraction is directly, actually physically related to profit.
To have profit, there has to occur extraction.
Profit, is the single biggest driver of extraction by far, if there is even any other reason.
It might be that we have become blind to this, because we don’t know that there can be any alternative to profit, as a mechanism of transferring wealth, and actually energy, via money.
But the actual truth is there is a very obvious alternative, that is donation.
If a person really is interested in saving the planet, and themselves, why would they not be happy to just donate the money needed?
We can break this profit driven spell almost instantly by massive stimulus to all people, empowering all to put in the necessary solar hydrogen infrastructure needed to remove the depdendence of all from grid supplied energy.
Further, it is affordable, proof with numbers is below:
Anyone can research my stories, the equipments available on Alibaba etc, and actually also consult ChatGPT, to confirm this is a fully viable instant solution, solving all the problems of toxic batteries, water supply, food supply, keeping aviation in the air, including even bringing back some previously “Unprofitable” examples like Concorde and the Space Shuttle, if folk still would like to have and use those, as I am sure we do.
But I guess it would have to be the financial authorities who would have to consent to doing this, with maybe some kind of amnesty of capital.
In short, this would be us moving from Capitalism, to something we might call Energyism.
Currently is seems almost inconceivable they might do this, but the question still remains, would they not do this, even if they knew it was what has to be done to save the planet, and even their own lives, ultimately, and in the shorter term, fixing inflation almost instantantly?
(We saw it happen during Covid, oil prices went negative, the issued currency went up in value. It is depreciating now because it stopped being issued. I’ve provided full analyses of those observations in other stories)
I’ve presented the solution here in Medium, many times now, but it is not something that appeals to anyone still interested in profit, including the platform, so it is not very well known, still.
I’ve gone into more detail in my response to the Medium story that alerted me to your movie (Thanks Mary), which I might not have known about otherwise.
Sorry if this spoils any chances you have of making profit with the movie, I but I hope you might find a way to convince your movie sponsors, to modify it, cancel it, or maybe to present a follow up as a kind of unexpected “Twist” to the story, or whatever, the message has to move on from Nuclear, and quick, for enough value to be left in money, to make the actual fix needed.
Anyone knowing Oliver, or anyone connected with Oliver, pls do whatever you can to see he gets this message.
