Not true. There is no limit to the amount of plants that can grow on Earth, adding value to Earth, from the unlimited energy of sunlight.
Those things might as well not exist in your world, but they are very much needed for life :)
Monetising sunlight not only makes sense but is inevitable, we either do it or perish.
The inflation we are seeing is because we are putting to use tens of GigaJoules of energy per second from the sun in every country, it is doing the same work as was previously done by extracted energy, but it is not reflected yet by issue of money, so money is becoming increasingly less representative of actual physical product, in fact the most valuable product we can imagine.
It isn't compatible with money as debt, because every promise to pay is a promise to extract, which prevents us from understanding the concept of something donated to us being of value.
Honestly, this mindset of nothing can ever be for free, and nothing infinite can be of any value, and so on, will be the death of us, it seems to me.
We are like a baby, we think that if we don't need to suck to have it, then it isn't food, when food is being handed to us on a plate, whilst our mother is dying of exhaustion. We still haven't worked out yet, how to take some of the food from the plate, and even take some for our dying mother. But I have faith that we will.
