Not true, and... illogical. The Joules put to use in your body, and all living things, are the thing valuable. Increasing that puts more Joules to valuable use. Hence why removing many species of life on Earth by our presence to date has been something harmful. But it is only harmful if it stays that way. If a baby dies at the point of birth, then the net result of its existence was to remove some of the energy from its mother. But if the baby is born, like most babies are, the baby then goes on to put back the Joules it took out from its mother many times over, during its life, all being well. The same can be said for a plant, it too has a pre-birth (Pre-leaf) energy deficit to Earth, which it pays back many times over in its life after it forms leaves.

Right now, humanity has an energy deficit to Earth, we owe it. If we bowed out now, then we leave having only ever done damage.

In the end it is up to you what you want to believe. If you believe life is valueless, then you will probably never contribute anything of value, except maybe by accident, it could never be by intention, if you don't see the purpose in life, including human life.
