No mention of solar panels, but put enough of those on, backed up by hydrogen, so as to disconnect from grid, not only will the energy bills go from being bills to the opposite, (income), but there becomes no need to worry any longer about efficiency. If more income is or energy is needed, just increase the solar complement.
Efficiency improvements are important in the case of mathematically negative energy (energy subtracted from Earth), obviously we want to slow the rate of consumption down because in this case our consumption equates to net destruction. But if the Joules we use are from the sun itself then we go into net positive, ie creation, not destruction.
That is the required result, we need to do this to pay back what is effectively an energy debt, that we owe to Earth.
Every building and every community can become a business like this, capable of generating income by sales of hydrogen fuel to passing transportation, which is convertible from fossil fuels, both internal combustion and EVs, the toxic batteries in EVs replaced by fuel cells, whilst purefying and circulating both air and drinking water, and to cap it all off, if you have a bioreactor in house, the size of a large fridge freezer, you can create food from the hydrogen also, removing some food consumption load from the conventional food chain (see "Solein")
This would not only provide all of the community of the building with a kind of UBI, the whole business would be net positive, not just net zero, because direct use of solar is the only way to replace Joules of Earth taken by extraction, since only the Joules from the sun are mathematically positive, adding to Earth, rather than extracting from it, when we use them.
Notice also thermodynamically, Joules from the sun converted to anything other than heat have to result in planetary cooling, whereas Joules produced by converting materials of Earth have to result in heat added to the planet in addition to the heating from the sun.
Enough solar hydrogen communities like that, and the global energy problem is fixed.
Further, it even fixes the economy, since if the government itself was a grand solar hydrogen community, everyone could receive unconditional UBI from it acting in the same way.
Until that is done, money has to continue to lose value, because by not being given out, so as to monetise the solar economic product already created in the economy, money is coming to represent nothing, whilst the solar energy product continues to grow and accumulate.
Sorry long way to say solar is missing from your analysis, which might not mean much, until we know about the economics of free energy, which solar is, before and after the infrastructure to collect it is built.
