Maybe so, but personally I don't think it does much good looking back at the way the world was before energy depletion became what we should be looking at. That is the ball we should be keeping our eye on, if we want to have any chance of avoiding it hitting us like a brick wall.
How much energy went into creating every weapon being thrown in that war, and how much went into every life extinguished by them, and how much energy went into the milions of lives being extinguished in Pakistan, and other places due to flooding, disease, and famine, and the millions lost in Yemen due to war, and now also in Ukraine.
We should think again, if we think Sir Keir would really be any alternative, he would be the first knighted ever to break the trend.
I think now we will be reduced to millions in the streets in uk, before the Kardashev Money needed to fix the problem is finally demanded, and given, but whether that will still have sufficient value to fix the problem, or whether it will be too late, like in Sri Lanka, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
This happening all over Europe Btw, each country is facing its own crisis, which at source is due to energy depletion.
