Maybe helps to look at it like a cycle race, if our interest is for the team to do well, we work with them, and the team gets home in the minimum possible time.

If our interest is only for ourselves, then the team work against one another, one will win over the others in the end, but the team took so much longer to get home.

The team we need to consider now is the whole of humanity, and we need to work together with nature as one.

If we continue trying to compete with nature, we are done.

That might sound a little utopian, but a new donation based market economy / democracy might altrady be happening, led by financial stimulus, UBI, free money, or whatever it is preferred to call it.

That is something worth pursuing, I believe, since it aligns with the energy of the sun, our original source of wealth, given with nothing expected in return, what we define as global debt could be transferred to a deficit with our planet, repayable by implementing sufficient solar energy to cover it.
