Martin I agree with you on lots of things, but this is just warmongering, as far as I can see. Russia has no such designs, as Jack here points out. It is the US that wants the war to escalate, so world war can be justified. And we know where that will end up, nuclear, which would totally finish off the environment.
It is pretty obvious the US is trying ramp up tension in media, all the more interesting because Joe now has an impeachment being threatened, and all that business on laptops might spill out, so he / those in power are motivated to create a distraction, all we hear about China, Russia, Iran, Syria, North Korea, the Brics etc, is they are all bad, and we (NATO) are gonna have to "kick their ass". But actually the reason the planet is burning much worse this year than last is because the war in Ukraine has drastically pushed up the amount of energy extracted, all parties have gone into overdrive to extract more, and this has to result in temperature rise just by E=MC squared, never mind CO2, which is a symptom of the root cause; destruction.
So in addition to the death count we know about in Ukraine, we should really be adding the body count of the Pakistan floods, and the recent Earthquakes in Turkey and Morocco, and the subsequent Libyan flood, and the effects of all the fires, if we are honest, can all be traced to increased temperature.
I said last year that what we saw last year would be nothing to what we would see this year, because of the war in Ukraine. I am saying the same again now, all of these negative events are fueled by our use of mathematically negative energy (Extracted from Earth), when what we need to do is the opposite, switch fully to mathematically positive energy, (Solar - the only one)
Extracted energy underlies all profit, availability of extracted energy sets the difficulty of making profit, the price of the energy does not tell us much about this, because demand can be heavily affected by things like the Ukraine war, but actually if there was no war, we might not be using very much extracted energy at all, because a large portion of utilities energy business has transferred to domestic and community solar, which is good news for the environment, but bad news for profit driven business, since the only way to monetise it is to give the money for free, and that will instantly affect the value of capital. Meantime business for profit works all the harder to make more profit to compensate, But as long as they don't issue the money, inflation has to continue to devalue it to nothing.
Anyhow, your post will probably be popular, so might make you some more money than another which argues for peace in Ukraine. Warmongering makes money because war makes money, for some, at least they will be hoping it will I guess. But do they realise it is ending the planet?
