Join up the world grids and add that power, it becomes constant, as there is always about half of the grid in daylight, no matter what time of day.

Add enough solar installation to power the world grid to meet maximum power demand at any time around the world, and then there is no need for batteries.

There are actually world grid projects underway, though probably not in the US.
