Jan, yes it would have been more accurate for me to say 8x cap, as in there is 8x more solar capacity than what the government has capped it to (2GW max), thanks for the correction.
Remember they only expected 850MW, it is actually more than 16x that amount.
So we should take those developments there as pretty emphatic proof that there is no barrier to rolling out solar, other than the government and big energy / grid companies losing control.
It only needs to be demonstrated once to show a little of what is possible, and it was demonstrated right there. It could be much more than even that, including with hydrogen backup if real money was made available for it, like Kardashev money, rather than just a guaranteed rate of return, which required farm owners to dig deep, or take out loans, and the government seem to have reneged on the deal anyway.
I hopw you might agree there were about 6TWhrs in the bank, just according to the data you had there. With full data that would most likely be several times more, maybe an order of magnitude more, if we included the past twenty years, rather than just the previoius six years. That is an awful lot of money, waiting to be issued. The current proportion of solar is around 10%. So if the remaining 90% was put in, by a ten-fold increase in solar capacity, including hydrogen backup, the same amount of money would again be available for issue in 1/10 of twenty years, ie, two years. We would have no sooner built the solar capacity than it would be paying for itself, and everyone would have effectively free wages, for just looking after their community solar.
That changes the world to a very different place, I hope you can see, even law and order changes to something different, because if criminals are also receiving the same free money, as of course they have to, then they no longer have incentive to commit crime, and in turn, most of the legal system becomes redundant, therefore reducing the power load on the system, no more bullshit business, because no-one has to, any longer.
There is a very large section of "business" which would become no longer required, so the actual load reduces significantly.
I believe this would be the end of grids, and big energy, and many other things not required in that new way of working.
Nature will force this, one way or another, as sure as the nutrients in a plant have to change direction, when the first leaves are formed, after the plant has hauled those nutrients upwards all of its life against gravity, all it has to do after its leaves form, is allow the nutrients to flow back to Earth, effortlessly, drawn by gravity, after they are coninuously generated by the photons landing on its leaves.
