I've heard this now from several sources, but have yet to see or hear a plausible, logical explanation of "Why".

It is apparent that our fixation with profit is temporary, and has to be, for our survival as a species, otherwise we end all organic life on our planet.

That is a physical inevitability that no species can get around.

To be sustainable, any species advancing to interplanetary travel has to first learn how to use the energy of its local sun, rather than the stored energies (Capital) of its planet, so it has to move on from the ideas of profit.

By being interplanetary alone, if they exist, they show that they have moved beyond profit.

(Ignore the publicity by Musk, Besos, et al, they are no further forward than we were fifty years ago on space travel, in fact we have gone backwards, still no-one even walking on the moon, never mind on Mars, or anywhere else)

Logically, with profit gone, and thus also colonialism, there is not much that can be gained from exercising power over other beings or species.

So why would these higher power extraterrestrials be exercising any kind of deceitful power over us?
