I've always been a space enthusiast, even getting to work on space programs, in the past, including creating orbital modeling software, amongst other things.
But science now very urgently needs to fix a problem on Earth, in order to get into space properly. We will never do it at profit, or with the mathematically negative energy required for the profit driven system. It is mathematically impossible, unless you plan on converting the planet itself to the spacecraft "Nibiru style" via profit driven geo-engineering.
If you would prefer staying sun-bound, and just using properly funded spacecraft, then folk "Near the top", in science have to do something PDQ, to save the reputation of science, because it has made / allowed a massive error about something very fundamental, that needs to be fixed before further damage is done, and to be able to "pull out all the stops" allowing you good folks to get on with the job of space research for real.
Who is bold enough amongst you to come down from the stars to call it out?
