Its true we need one another. But its also true we are not all the same. Further, some need to be alone, at least some of the time. It is possible to think in terms of the collective, in the interests of the collective whilst not wishing to be part of it much of the time. So we need to be free to be individual, and/or alone, if we wish to be, I think. If we get things right, we'll be able to choose, all of us, all of the time, to be part of the collective on our own terms, whenever we want, or not. Living and letting live, is real love, it seems to me.
I am not so sure nothing good is ever achieved by individuals. Works of art, scientific discoveries, and the best food, is usually cooked by individuals :)
