Its something I've never invested in financially but been very interested to follow technically since its inception. As you probably know, it has to be instrumental in the conversion of humanity from finite extracted energy sources, I think this is it's final destiny, something that will turn out to be a vehicle demonstrating how valuable the energy of the sun really is.
I wrote a story named "The Bitcoin Kardashev Hinge", that you might like, if you haven't seen already (Sorry if you might even have seen and already remarked on it, it's a while since I revisited it, despite it being more relevant now than ever, there's a lot going on!)
I would love to see academics get into studying the energy-to-information relationship around Bitcoin, this has to be defined as a kind of creation, fundamental to the universe, something very pro-life, it seems to me. It has been the subject of greed, like any kind of capital, but the incredible thing about Bitcoin is that one day, after the end of value in capital, Bitcoin might be recognised as representing much more than just capital, it could well become seen as a kind of proof of energy supply, ownership of it could be something transferred to indicate allocation of energy supply, whilst conventional money comes to reflect Joules per token, Bitcoin becomes Joules per token per second (Watts per Token).
The actual numerical value works out at something like 10mW per Satoshi - fun fact :)
