Timely article, saying the right things, but Its not just the insurance industry, when profit of a major financial component of an economy is hit, it follows, tracing energy flows, that all profit margins are impacted, because its the same input energy to all - energy extracted from the planet, and its not just in the US, it being connected with significant influence to the world economy, what happens there will mostly follow here, and vice versa.

The only countries likely to be less affected are those with governments that might be somehow funneling in some energy from solar into the economy, by donating it for free. For example China, it does not charge its citizens for energy. I am guessing, I've never been there, but been to Cuba and energy is for free to citizens, but Cuba appears to have failed to scale up their solar energy to sustain what is given out for free, so even a slight hiccup in supply of fossil fuels to them results in power cuts, and they are in deep poverty in any case.
