It's always for commercial interests. Even if it's a government spying on the data, it's for commercial interests. Governments are just big companies.
Its impossible to protect data like this, it's all out in the open, more or less already.
What needs to be done is to remove the for-profit motivation.
Then nobody would be interested in the data, nothing to gain from it.
Solar indexed stimulus for all, is the only way to monetise the only energy availability still scaling up, whilst all others scale down.
When that begins to be issued, we won't care much about data privacy.
