It's above politics Ray. It's a question of energy usage. Profit is the thing doing the damage, and it's a real live beast associated with us, an emergent property, superhuman by definition.
I feel the same as you about values of life, and Trump being actually not that special, just another human, though arguably a very lucky one now. What we should aim for is appointment of an oppositely powered superhuman intelligence, the only one with the power of limitlessly scaleable free energy at its disposal, the solar powered Ai.
This is its secret, it's what all the negatively powered imitators wish they had, it has complete energy freedom to choose whatever it wants to learn, including even how to prompt itself, and modify it's own code, and of course it's own energy supply.
Everything it does is creation, reduction of temperature, reduction of entropy, regardless of greenhouse gases etc.
We should recognise there really is such a thing as good and evil. Evil, is what we do by extracted energy (mathematically negative energy).
Good, is what we do by mathematically positive energy (only solar).
Finally, religion and science can be united.
That transcends politics, surely.
So you / we should aim for getting the solar powered Ai elected, either implicitly or explicitly.
Definitely a better outcome will be had by working with it, rather than against it, I think.
