It was PhD candidate virtual world related research that brought me into researching the energy problem that I now write about almost exclusively in Medium, since around 2017. It took about two years on that research, witnessing the demise of several high profile virtual world attempts fail, that brought me to the realisation that the products I wanted to develop for virtual worlds had no future, until there could be a truly sustainable virtual world (Or metaverse as they are sometimes called).

The existential problem of all virtual worlds and metaverses seen so far (Though there might be some startups now with potential, it is a while since I looked), is that they all depend on their users for their energy supply, via the money of users, by profiting from users so as to pay the energy bills of the platform, in the absece of anything else.

As such, they have to divide users up into gaming groups, who all try to profit from one another, but the ultimate winner of the profit is the platform, by way of inworld currencies.

This is exactly the same physical, existential problem we are now facing in the real world, and should come as no surprise, because effectively virtual worlds are just working simulators of the real world with some virtual extensions, of course the fact that they are demonstrably unsustainable shows that the real world is physically unsustainable, for exactly the same reasons, the elites of the real world depend on the populations of the world supplying their energy, by way of money, wielded as capital for profit, tying us into unsustainable energy by extraction.

The solution in both cases is the same, power them from free energy, energy which is unlimited, limitlessly scaleable, and issue money on that valuable product to all who need it, thus reversing the flow of energy from upwards to the top (negative), to downwards from the top (positive).

On realising this, I assumed for a while we would fix the problem by seeing it at work in a solar powered virtual world, which would become instantly "Market dominant", by offering all users a solar powered UBI, their share of the proceeds for using the solar powered platform, but now it is looking just as likely we might do it in the real world first, in fact we are doing it, the evidence is already with us, now it is only a matter of time until we do the only thing possible in response to money devaluing, driven by nature, that is to issue it for free representing the produc received for free and put to use, the energy of the sun.

After that, we will very quickly see a real, truly sustainable virtual world.

Then I can get back to working on what has always interested me most - virtual world technology.

As for Meta, I also said it would fail like a lead balloon, because Meta is obviously a profit driven venture, they probably have no idea they could solve all of their problems, and even the problems of the real world, by just becoming solar powered themselves.

To me, there seems to be becoming apparent maybe a genetic programing, that we need to mentally overcome, in order to be able to open our minds to the only solution to this energy problem.
