It was intended to be a neutral discrimination, as opposed to Unionists. I can’t see how to be more neutral than that without ignoring there is any difference at all, but then we might never know they’ve been killing one another for eight years, since Maidan. We (the UK) were never that neutral about our own troubles in Ireland. We used to call the Nationalist militants the Irish Republican Army. If we were similarly direct about Ukraine, we would call the Nationalist militants the Asov Batallion. I will let you work out which one the Ukranian military, and thus also we, are allied with.
