It might help to realise that its unsustainable for all business, and there is a solid physical reason why all business demands more and more from both customers and emplyoyees - profitability itself, of all businesses for profit, is being squeezed, by dropping energy availabability in the environment.
It's running out, because we are using it up. Business is using it up, including even businesses that think or claim they do the opposite, they do it if they depend on profit, and we all do.
Environmental energy availaibility, at least for those who are not solar powered, looks to have peaked around the seventies and eigthties. This explains where there were so many folk "Made it big" with seeming not much effort at all, relative to how difficult it is to do the same now.
Also, it was the time when we started to see the loss of genuine technical icons, the height of our technical capabilities - we lost manned spaceflights to the moon, reusable spacecraft (Shuttle), supersonic commercial aircraft (Concorde).
Private / VC funded space industry will never come close to any of those things, because they are just too expensive, not enough possibilities for profit. Profitability of all things is now tumbling fast, becausse it depends on availability of energy in the envrironment. The more difficult it is to obtain the energy we each need to live, the harder profitability is squeezed, hence why we see a rising frequency of businesses going to the wall.
This won't turn round, it can be plotted over time modeled by a torque converter function, in a few minutes working with ChatGPT for example, it looks like the trajectory of a stone thrown, and is not much different from the discharge curve of a battery, it starts modestly, peaks in a mid-life, and declines to zero after that, with rate of change of the curve getting ever steeper.
So nobody should feel any shame for burning out, it is very literally a physical problem which is becoming more and more difficult to manage, business for profit itself is breaking down, it never was sustainable, profit is an energy lie which robs the planet of energy. Another sign of this is the rising temperature of the planet.
Millennials had/have it bad but following generations have it even worse, including the generation of my twenty year old daughter.
The answer is for all to go solar on a distributed domestic and community basis, backed by hydrogen if we wish to rescue aerospace, which will require we move to solar indexed stimulus, as necessary to monetise the economic product created from solar.
This will completly revolutionise evrything we know, all our legal values, so its not a small move, but it has to happen, to also stop the planet from burning.
