It isn't true that we need to depopulate, or downsize, or use Nuclear.
The truth is we are not yet formally recognising that we should be monetising solar power (Issuing money reflecting it)
When we do that, we remove all value in capital, and all bullshit industries, thus we slash our power requirements to a much smaller envelope.
From that point on, if we get to it, we will we be working in positive mode (Contrbuting positively to the energy of Earth), like trees do.
A tree takes a tiny amount of capital from stores of energy on Earth, to grow a shoot to the point where it sprouts leafs.
In that time the energy flow in the tree is negative, from roots to shoot, in the opposite direction of energy from sun to Earth.
After the leaves form, they begin to absorb energy from the sun, and the energy flow through the tree is positive, from leafs to roots, in the same direction as sun to Earth, for the remainder of the life of the tree.
So the net energy flow through all trees and plants is positive.
Because we've only ever monetised capital (stored energy - Joules), we've never seen the power of live energy (Joules per second), the only source of which is the sun.
The simplest way to monetise that is to assign a fixed number of Joules to each token of money, and issue continuously to all people, according to the Joules of energy being received and put to use from the sun.
When we do that, money becomes to us like nutrients are in nature.
By that we solve all of the problems of poverty, whilst also removing all bullshit jobs and industries.
So no need for nuclear, that would just be more negative industry and work, which compounds the issue.
Everything we do is negative, until we are solar powered, then all changes.
We will do that by monetising solar energy.
The question is, will we realise this as a species, before it is too late?
I have no idea.
