It is great to see so many people motivated to make change. But I couldn't help noticing you didn't mention energy.
Are modern Ecological studies still not talking about energy?
The thing is when we trace through all causes and effects in terms of physical energy, we find a bit of an uncomfortable truth.
Profit, is a kind of dishonesty, by being energy robbed from the planet / nature.
This is destruction, hence the reason it is unsustainable.
It is energy taken from being originally put to use by nature from the sun.
E=MC squared is all we need to understand it. Energy converted from anything other than heat has to become heat.
Energy theft, is another way to put it.
Now we owe the planet, to pay it back.
Failure to pay the energy debt will lead to extinction, much sooner than we can possibly realise, if we don't understand this very fundamental issue of what we are doing with energy - abusing it.
Not meaning to debase anyone's hard, and well meaning work, but how much business for profit was made in educating your friend to PhD?
All of that came extracted from Earth, and all of it contributed to temperature rise.
Sounds religious I know, but I can't help that, it's the hard, physical truth, all the result of applying formal systems Engineering, ironically gained from business for profit, applied to the natural energy system.
This is what needs to change, to stop the destruction.
We need to start recognising it, and devaluing it.
We will do that by also recognising and valuing creation.
Creation can only happen using the energy of the sun.
We need to monetise that creation.
We can only do that by giving money for free, because the sun never asked anything for the energy given, it was given for free, so has to be passed on for free.
Taking anything in return for it means it hasn't been passed on, therefore nothing can be created by it, therfore it has to become heat.
Putting it to use as things other than heat is creation.
There is no limit to creation, we literally can't have enough of it.
We seem to have somehow got our logic screwed up a little, by thinking maybe creation is the accumulation of personal material wealth.
Anyhow, issue of a solar indexed UBI, honestly reflecting the value of economic product created by solar, would switch us instantly to creative mode, where we start paying back down the energy debt to the planet. This would be rapid, very rapid, because the switch to mathematically positive energy results in an awful lot of positive results. Creation feeds creation. I just hope we will see this as a collective before it is too late. Notice this is independent of time, it is dependent on profit.
Pushing up taxes for example, as is being proposed to try to penalise polluters, just increases the pressure to make more profit, therefore makes the problem worse.
I started publishing some books, I hope they will help.
