It is good that you have obviously put so much effort into this analysis, thanks for posting.
But with respect, there are a few things fundamental you seem to have missed, with the result that your conclusion on what needs to be done appears incorrect to me.
Firstly there is no such thing as renewable energy.
The term itself appears be profit driven greenwashing.
I hope you might agree that a large portion of traditional science community,is the same, falling into the category of "Bullshit Jobs", as defined by the late David Graeber, just like every other category of traditional work and "Jobs" serving no purpose but to use yet more energy, paying people to do useless and even deceptive work, so many of the conclusions made by the traditional scientific community are actually dangerously incorrect.
I notice throughout your article a tendency to try to stick rigorously to the conventional scientific view, even though you are obviously aware of the harmful effects of the debt based money economy.
Unfortunately we have to accept that science itself is not immune to the characteristic of deceptive profit driven conclusions.
So conventional investment driven science has us believe that fusion is something worth investing in, whilst the power of the actual natural grand fusion reactor of our solar system, the thing that inspires the whole idea of artificial fusion, is somehow inadequate to fuel our purposes.
See how illogical that sounds?
In such cases, we have to use simple logic over what traditional science might have us believe.
I recommend the power section of the "The world counts", to put things into perspective.
Further, the concept of EROI cannot be applied, and is irrelevant to solar energy, since by definition it can only be used on the case that the relative sources of emergy are finite. In the case of solar it is not finite, because it is effectively endless.
So your conclusions on fusion vs solar are fundamentally incorrect.
The sun is the only actual source of energy.
Fusion is literally pie in the sky, the pie is the sun.
I’ve written much more, around the subject I’ve called Kardashev Money.
I think your analyses could be infinitely better with those things taken into account.

There is only one energy. It is solar. It is infinite for all practical intents and purposes.

It is donated to us for free.

Failure to recognise this very simple fact, is the thing killing us, and all of nature, if it lets us.
