It is defeatism to not see, or recognise, or accept that the whole situation is unnecessary. There is a very simple way out, we have infinite energy in the environment, and that makes all the difference.

Would a chicken in an egg, that chose to breathe less inside the shell of its egg, to conserve air and energy, rather than peck its way out, not be defeatist?
