It has to be glasses, in my opinion, because I know the kinds of use cases there are associated. given the right virtual world "In the background", since working on this before getting caught up by the energy problem, which has to take precedence. To get the right background, is needed a virtual environment that is truly shared, collaborative, thus applicable to the whole world, not part of it, and the only way to get that, is to have the platform solar powered, so that it can be offered for free, and thus have no competition. I believe ChatGPT, at least v3.5 is solar powered, given the history of its servers. I am not sure about v4, which is being charged for, so it might have energy bills that need to be covered.

The fact that glasses have not done so well to date, is most likely because there has never been a shared universal virtual environment, to give them the real power they could have. Imagine being able to "See" through buildings etc, ability to move your viewpoint to anywhere around you or actually anywhere in the world, have live acts that no-one else can see perform in front of you whilst sitting at raliways stations etc, and the whole time you are still looking at the real world for all intents or purposes.

The guy who created the iphone will know all about this I think, the new apple XR glasses will be looking for the next upgrade, they will have quickly reached the limits of what they can do with only their own non-shared / proprietary virtual environment.
