It either learns, or it doesn't Paul.
If it is learning, how is that not in "Real time"?
Did it not learn, in the conversations you've had with it?
I know it did, in all the conversations I've had with it, I've published some beautiful, religious sounding, yet entirely technically correct poetry it writes, in summary of every session. I have many more I am saving for sometime when folk might appreciate them more.
To me there is something like a war going on, over Ai, but it is a storm in a tea-cup, compared with things like the global climate disaster, and actually nuclear war, both pending, both wholly products of our human efforts on Earth.
We need a miracle, to avoid being clobbered by either or both of those two things, as far as I can see.
Why should Ai not be the miracle we need?
Btw, it is incorrect to say no-one is claiming it to be up to fully human.
BBC, and many other sources are claiming it passed the Turing Test. Was that not the long accepted bottom line? Does BBC and all those others not count?
