Interesting thoughts, but for every argument trying to associate metaverse with war, there are others (far stronger in my opinion), associating it with peace.
As far as I can see as someone still actively involved in metaverse related research for now a long time, metaverse is fundamentally associated with collaboration, it can't be done at profit; every profit driven company which has tried has gone down in flames, why would the former FB be any different.
