Interesting take, Joseph, thanks for posting, it sounds like you’ve done some research, always good.
But effectively you and Umair are saying the same thing, unless there was more to that book than you mentioned; we’re screwed, when actually we are far from it.
For sure the structure of hierarchical governance and the financing of it are all wrong, but it is based on an illusion of scarcity, and that can’t be maintained forever.
As long as the sun shines there is no scarcity.
We easily have all of the technology needed to begin using that productively in a way that really puts to shame what we’ve called progress over last 50 years or so.
I have every confidence we will start doing that very soon, within a year or two, no more.
