Interesting story, thanks for posting. I have always thought pretty much the same thing. I thought I should follow you, since when you were looking at those bubbles, I was exactly one month old, a few thousand miles away doing something like the opposite of those bubbles you saw merging, I guess. For every black hole we can see, there has to be an outlet, that maybe we can't see, it seems to me.
