Interesting fact about the liar's dividend, I agree incredibly valuable concept, but didn't know the origin of it, thanks for pointing it out.
What I would stress is most important about it, is that we are all prone to it.
In fact we are doing it all the time, emitting a constant sales pitch, instead of what is really on our minds, it seems to me, we have to, to avoid offending folk who we might have to depend on in future to continue making the living we need to live. In fact now letting people live in peace has become a protection racket by all people, we could choose to have anyone cancelled anytime, we are each living on a tightrope of this protection racket.
Dare anyone say anything good about Trump, anything bad about Biden?
Doesn't look like it to me though I am neither a Trump nor Biden fan, both are hopeless, I think you would be infinitely better off just putting ChatGPT in charge.
So it is impossible to have any objective discussion on politics at all.
Not sure if you are aware your assumption that there has never been any real use of deep fakes in politics is a little illogical, because good deep fakes are undetectable by definition, how would we know, if they have been used or not?
So it maybe reveals a bias towards the party currently in power, by wishing to believe illogically that there has never been deep fakes used in politics.
