Interesting article, thanks for writing it. I particularly loved your description of the geography of Etruria, nice!
There seems many parallels, between the whitewashing of history which happened then, and is still happening now.
Che Guevara, appalled at the inequality seen between black people, and white, described their nature as party-loving and easy going, even “Lazy”, as the Romans maybe described the Etruscans.
The Romans obviously practiced colonialism, in fact maybe even invented it, and we still practice it, in the form of colonisation of knowledge.
Patents are a form of knowledge colonisation, where a person or organisation claims the rights to a body of knowledge, none of the funds accrued are assigned to the foundational knowledge creators, going back the entire history of humanity.
That seems to be how power shifts in the form of wealth, towards those least deserving of it.
They basically stole it.
More and more it is starting to look like an awful lot of wealth was created by ancient peoples, only for it to be stolen later by more “Modern” people, through colonialism, then going on to practice capitalism with yet more colonialism, in fact, profit itself is just a persona of colonialism.
Trump just removed the persona.
You touched on the question of whether or not there is a coordinated effort to cover up.
I don’t think it is conscious at all, but does live in our subconscious.
I think the “Profit monster” describes it well, serving a similar purpose as the monster that needs to be despatched in order to recover from any dangerous addiction.
We are suffering from an addiction as a species, so dangerous it now threatens our existence, and the worrying thing is so few seem to see it, far less try to fix it.
None of the profit driven attempts at a vaccine are likely to come to something that ends covid, as that result would spoil the profitability of the vaccine.
What doesn’t kill, just makes stronger, and the virus is mutating all of the time, whilst we just get older.
Anyone who thinks they might be immune should remember that.
We could have ended the virus by worldwide lockdown on day one, and still could, but are too busy trying maintain the businesses of profit to do that.
Sorry that might have gone a little off-topic, but it is strange how all bad stuff seems to trace back to the same underlying cause, I think.
