Interesting article, thanks for posting. Kind of humorous too, I was starting to think the whole article cryptically comprised just the endlessly repeating image at the start (A touch of genius!). This question is something I am finding as an Engineer prointing out that the energy of the sun is infinite for our purposes, and free, forever, is a real problem. I am finding serious actually existential resistance to it in the majority of people, as far as I can tell.
To me it looks like we might have finitism genetically built in. I remember my own mind being repelled from the thought that anything could be for free, everything had to be from limited resources. Now studying it for a number of years and realising that a species with this error built-in is literally suicidal in the longer term, we put profit before all other concerns, even human life, and it has to lead ultimately to a burning planet, as we are seeing, still we see things only as the end of something finite, never the beginning of something relatively infinite, as it could be, if we just wanted it.
But it is obviously hackable, because I've done it, and am sure many others have too.
It's an interesting conundrum!
Does it occur that the big bang theory is a finitst error?
