To me, most of the politicking amounts to the same thing; wasted energy.
Any discussion neglecting the source problem; our disconnection from the sun, uses energy that should be being used to make the needed connection.
As long as we talk about everything else, precious time and resources are being wasted, and of course pollution generated.
We need to be careful not to enact a prophecy which is self fulfilling, by talking about everything except what needs to be fixed.
The soulution, which nature is screaming at us, is connect to the sun.
