There is a catch though, if any energy is tapped from a superconducting loop, then the current in the loop still has to reduce accordingly. Can’t get around that, unfortunately.

But it would be really useful to have long distance superconcucting power trasmission lines.

Especially once we realise, very soon, that we must tap into the energy of the sun to really supply our ever increasing energy needs, the equator will become the main power collector, with all other places receiving power by transmission lines, supercoducting transmission lines make the distance unlimited.
