Indi I've clapped maximum on this like so many of your stories because it's a damn' good read, even though you are now so very close to the whole truth, yet still excruciatingly wrong, it's actually funny, your story made me laugh.
The planet is not finite.
It was, as far as we were concerned, until we got the physical technology to create directly from sunlight.
Around 2005, is when the economic effects first started to be seen.
We have yet to start using this for real, because as yet we have not monetised it.
When it is monetised, then we begin a new, creative existence.
Mathematically we will be winding back down the damage done.
and the numerical analyses of outstanding solar indexed UBI that is owed to the public, in order to monetize economic product created from solar, you will see the hard evidence that this is real, we are moving from what was a finite world, to a relatively infinite world, whether we like it or not, nature has this thing with all hands, and will ram it through, regardless of what any of us individuals want, or have the power to change.
If we were inside a baby being born right now, we would be seeing something similar, the stresses within the baby to the point of birth must be immense, none of the individual cells of the baby know what is happening, all they know is they ran out of energy and oxygen from the placenta, now they / we have to learn to breath as a collective from the wider environment.
