Indi, by now, you must be seeing the part that profit plays in all of this, though you don’t talk much about it.

You do mention greed here and there, but the thing behind it, profit, is something you seem to steer clear of.

The truth is that profit and scarcity are very closely interlinked.

It’s the real reason we see scarcity enforcement, scarcity is needed to assure profit.

Profit, is the mechanism which was used by the West to gain the historical advantage of being first to the post, siezing the lions share of wealth, in what was a zero-sum world.

We just happen to be predominantly white, but we could be any colour, I believe whichever humans hold the advantage, they would pretty much all do the same thing in a world driven by profit, regardless of colour, or location, it is the practice of profit that pits us against one another.

Patents are just scarcity enforcement of information, colonisation of information, something again driven by the need for profit seeking VC funded businesses to compete against one another.

As I said in response to another of your stories, everything might be changing, scarcity might be on the way out, ironically driven by profit, via Bitcoin.
